I am what you might call a “seasoned” teacher!  My teaching experience began in second grade in Houston, Texas.  Then I taught third grade in Spring Branch before returning to my hometown of Troup, Texas.  While at Troup Elementary, I have taught second, fourth and fifth grades.  I loved every minute of it!  Fourteen years ago I had the opportunity to step out of the classroom to begin my career as a Reading Recovery teacher.  It has been a most exciting and rewarding experience!! 

I have also served  as the Texas Reading First director for the last seven years.  We have put many wonderful things in place for the benefit of our students and teachers!
